Summary of Girls’ Tennis Season

Summary+of+Girls+Tennis+Season

The 2021-2022 season for girls tennis has been amazing and of course memorable! Coming off of a season full of limits and restrictions last year, this season has been a breath of fresh air for everyone. With a great coaching staff and excitement for the year, the team has done a great job at winning matches and creating a happy and supportive environment for the girls. The team has bonded and formed new friendships, especially with the lowerclassmen. There have been daily outings to places like Starbucks and Culvers for team dinners and coffees. Sections started amazing, with the first win against South West Christian. Being the 4th seed, we were able to have a home match. The following match, which was the semifinals, was held at Gustavus College in the morning. Luckily, there was a large student section for this match, which helped the girls with their energy, and made the match a lot of fun. Sadly, the match was lost and the team was done for the season. Later, there was an individual tournament for first singles, second singles, first doubles, and second doubles. The first and second doubles lost in the first round but fought hard. The second singles won her first match but lost her second. Finally, the first singles had a bye for the first round because of their second seed. Unfortunately, the first singles lost her second match, so she was done for the season, like the others. Overall, the season had its ups and downs, but the team stayed positive. The team looks forward to the possibilities for next year’s season!
