Jim from the Office is a Secret Spy?
Jack Ryan is about an up-and-coming CIA analyst, Jack Ryan(John Krasinski), who is pushed into a dangerous field assignment as he uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit.
Overall Jack Ryan was a decent show, with a formidable cast of characters, but in the end, it was a bit underwhelming for me. The marketing for this show presented it as an action-packed thriller that would keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time, but it was far from that. All of the action in the show was shown during the ads on tv, making it that much more underwhelming. Although the show was not action-packed, the story was better then I expected it to be. The characters were very well developed, except Jack Ryan ironically, and I ended up caring about a lot of them. The villain had a motive that you could get behind if he weren’t murdering innocent people.
All in all, Jack Ryan draws you in with its action-packed ads but leaves a bad taste in your mouth when it delivers a story about a cocky analyst who should maybe go back to selling paper in Scranton.
