Boys golf off to great start

Holy Family’s boys golf team has been ascendant through the first half of the 2014 season.

In the first tournament of the season at Shattuck, the Fire placed 2nd out of 24 teams and posted a team score of 304, the lowest tally for Holy Family in nearly two years. Building on this early success, HFCHS registered two 2nd place finishes in the two conference tournaments that followed.

At the Tri-State invitational, a tournament known for its high level of competition, Holy Family placed 12th and Freshmen Matt Larson finished 7th of 96 out of all individual players.

Speaking with Junior John Peterson on the potential of this year’s squad, he had nothing but praise for his team. “I think we have a chance to do big things this season. We have two players who will be playing college golf next year. In general, our roster is talented from top to bottom.”
