Movie Review: Shazam!

On a Saturday night, I decided to go see a fantastic movie: Shazam! Shazam is based on a DC Comic character that has now been developed into a live-action film. Shazam! began filming at New Line in the early 2000s but was delayed for many years. It was finally released in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures in RealD 3DDolby Cinema, and IMAX 3D on April 5, 2019. The film has grossed over $323 million worldwide and received praise from critics for it’s fun plot.

Ok, so now for the actual movie. In 1974, Upstate New York, a young Thaddeus Sivana is arguing with his family during a road trip when he is immediately transported to the Rock of Eternity, which is in a different dimension. He meets a wizard name Shazam, who thought Thaddeus was unworthy to be in the dimension, so he was zapped back to Earth. When Thaddeus tries to return to the Rock of Eternity, he distracts his father while he’s driving, and the car swerves and crashes. The accident cripples his father, and Thaddeus is blamed by his older brother for the car crash.

The present-day Sivana pursues Shazam to attend a carnival where the Sins are unleashed and action breaks loose. This film is action-packed and humor hidden within it. I highly recommend you see this film.
