Fire Baseball Gets Win Over New Prague
Holy Family played the New Prague Trojans on a chilly Friday night. The Fire were coming off a 5-0 victory from the previous day against Providence Academy.
Patrick Barrett led the fire at the plate going 4-4 with a home-run and 6 RBIs. Barrett also had a home run in the season opener. In addition to his contributions on the plate, Barrett pitched 5 innings on the mound with 4 strikeouts.
Senior catcher, Eric Rinzel had two doubles and an RBI. In addition, Rinzel made a couple of nice throws from home to 2nd to throw out a runner who was attempting to steal. Danny Reddan contributed 2 hits for the fire, and Jack Bucholz had an important RBI on a two-out single in the 7th inning to extend Holy Family’s lead.
The Fire won the game 10-8 and improved their record to 3-1 for the season.
Holy Family is starting a stretch of three consecutive games on Tuesday, April 30th. They play at home against Waconia on the 30th and against Rockford on May 1st before driving out to Hutchinson on May 2nd to play the Tigers.
