2019 Football Preview

The Holy Family Football team comes into the 2019 season with high hopes. Last year, leaded by senior QB Jacob Zay and Minnesota commit Jackson Ruschmeyer, the boys made it to the section finals. Mark Roane has started on the Offensive Line since Sophomore year, and as the youngest of 4 siblings and always the youngest on the line, its finally Roane’s time to shine. “I feel like we are going into this season with a lot of people not expecting much from us” Mark said, “I feel like we have a strong team with strong relationships that can carry us far into the postseason”.

Offense- Only 4 starters return from an amazing 2018 campaign. One of which is 3rd year starter Nick Hendler. Leading the team last season in rushing yards and tackles, Hendler has proved himself as one of the most dynamic players in school history. He will be backed up by speedy Junior Jakob Lenzmeier. The backs will be receiving hand-offs from 1st year starter Jake Kirsch. Kirsch will be throwing mainly to Seniors Nate Tinucci and Chris Bauer. Junior Thomas Guyer, who many say will be the breakout star this season, will be starting at Tight End. Roane and fellow Senior Captain Seth Thompson will lead a line consisting of 3 new starters; Seniors Carson Liebeg and Logan Raddick, and Junior Emiliano Corona. Mitch ‘Mountain’ Prosser will be another vital piece on the O-Line.

Defense- Lots of Offensive starters will be starting on Defense as well. Raddick, Thompson, and Liebeg  will man the line. Sophomore Jack Barth will attempt to work his way up the depth chart, along with Sophomore Ethan Livermore. The linebacking unit will be headed by Roane and Guyer, along with Seniors Josh Adams and Lucas Lembke. Juniors Will Zay and Carver Kasper will get steady playing time also. Hendler, Tinucci, and Bauer, who combined for 5 interceptions last season, will be joined by Juniors Tien Foudray and Joey Richelson at defensive back.
