Life can be hard, some days you can’t even get out of bed and some days you feel like everything is crashing in on you. This playlist is a list of songs that I hold near and dear to my heart, these songs either have astounding beats or hopeful lyrics that can get you out of bed when you don’t have the strength to.

“New York” by Benji and Fede is an Italian hit expresses the desire to run away to New York with your significant other. While you listen to this song you feel free. The guitar and the vocals bring you to a place you can feel safe and protected.

“Jamais Vu” by BTS, even though this song is in Korean doesn’t mean that you cannot understand it. “Please give me a remedy,” is one of my all time favorite lyrics because of its simplicity and its reality.

“Vienna” by Billy Joel, speaking from a girl who is always worrying about everything and anything, I want to have everything done and figured out, but Billy seems to understand that anxiety with the lyrics “slow down your doing fine, you can’t be everything you wanna be before your time.” Some days it feels like only Billy Joel understands.

“Sunday Best” by Surfaces is an electric bop and a great song to walk down the street to when everything feels like its just falling apart. Soon enough, you will start dancing down the street to these uplifting lyrics and creative beats. This song can put a smile on anyone’s face.

“Sleepwalk” by Jonny and Santo is the perfect song to glide around your room to.  With the smooth tunes of the unique steel guitar, when listening to this song you feel like you’re floating in an old ’60’s movie which would make everyone feel like everything is ok.

“Age of Worry” by John Mayer is an uplifting song about living in an era of stress, anxiety and hate. “Go wild in the age of worry and say worry get out of here,” is my favorite lyric in this song, to me it means take risks in your life and while you take those risks yell “worry get out of here.” This is a freeing song because some days we feel trapped by worry so badly we can’t leave our bed, but this song gives me strength to stick it to my anxiety and do me!

“Little Moth” by Chole Moriondo is an acoustic song that addresses a lot of problems that people who deal with mental illness experience on the daily. Such as worrying about if people like them, worrying if they’re doing anything right, wanting to be enough and so on.  I’m going to be raw with you, I worry about those things all the time, especially wondering if things will be ok. But Chole tells me “you may feel like your sinking but I swear you will be fine.” If your anything like me, this song will help you.

“This is Love” by Joey Kidney is a commentary about what love is, sure this is romantic but you could also think about it in a way that gives you hope. He might be talking about falling in love with a girl but you could also see it as a commentary about why you should never give up loving because, “loving yourself is the best thing you can do, so why don’t you love yourself and love someone else that’s the best of the best.”
