Movies That Shaped Me
Movies have played a huge part in my childhood. Growing up, my brother and I would watch them on long car rides. We’d call dibs on a character and pretend that we were the actors behind the voices, which eventually led to my interest in theater. Besides giving me the confidence to audition, movies have taught me important life lessons that I reference frequently.
These are the ones I believe are the most important:
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
It is okay to have a self care day.
Legally Blonde
Don’t choose to spend your time with anyone that makes you feel less than you are.
The Little Women
No matter how hard it may be, try to forgive.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Some adventures have to happen alone.
Back to the Future
Know your limits and know when to walk away.
The Notebook
You shouldn’t have to convince someone to love you.
The Princess Diaries
Your manners will get you a long way.
Sweet Home Alabama
Remember where you came from.
The Goonies
Make time to tell someone you love them.
Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure
Be excited about the little things.
