It’s that time of year,

summer has ended, oh boy now you’re a freshman.

It may be intimidating at the start,

unknown faces wandering the halls.

Don’t be afraid to try something new,

maybe a sport or two.

No more recess,

so make sure to pack a large lunch,

you’re in high school now,

say goodbye to fifteen minute fun.

Don’t forget to do your homework,

excuses like my dog ate it,

no longer work.

Four years fly by fast,

so hold on to memories

before you’re packing your bags,

to leave for college.
