“Dear Phoenix, How do I deal with change?”

I was once told that there is only one constant thing in life, and that is change. People react to change differently. Some people are excited and ready for change but others get extremly anxious.  Change is good but if you have a hard time dealing with change we have some tips for you.

1.Don’t deny the change

The best way to mange your feelings with change is to admit that change happens. Change is a good part of life that will teach us lessons. If you are in denial that change happens you need to admit that change is part of reality.

2. Learn from change

It is hard to do something new, especially if it is out of your comfort zone. But putting yourself out of your comfort zone is necessary for growth. Would you rather live your life wondering “what would happen if I go to do this new thing?” or “what would happen if nothing ever changed?” I would advise you to to do the new thing and know you are growing from the experience.

3. Stay Healthy

When things are changing in your life sometimes you forget to do the important things. Take care of yourself; get good sleep, eat all meals, shower, drink a lot of water, take breaks, and exercize. The little things are what really make a big impact. Take care of yourself, you are worth it.

4. Take it one day at a time

When a lot of things are changing in your life it is easy to get overwhelmed. One thing that I live by is to take things one day at a time. Focusing on the future brings unnecessary stress.  But if you focus on the tasks you have to do today you learn how to live in the moment.

5.  Talk to someone or ask for help

Change can be a daunting task, but it doesn’t need to be. People care about you and if you ask for help most people will. It is great if you can talk to someone about the change in your life. Simply having them listen to you may feel like a weight being lifted off your shoulders.

Change is good and change is always happening. Embrace it, face it, learn, and grow.
