The Truth About Pet Adoption

The Truth About Pet Adoption

Everyone always says, “adopt don’t shop”, but I believe that actions are stronger than words. I’ve always wanted a bunny, recently I got one, not a baby or one from a breeder, but one that I adopted from the Humane Society after he was given up. Animals always deserve second chances, and adoption is not the only way to help. By volunteering, donating money or supplies, and even bringing awareness to the topic, many animals’ lives can be saved.

This personally affects me because all but one of my pets have been adopted, and I strongly believe the Humane Society deserves more recognition than they receive. The Humane Society is a no-kill organization with shelters throughout the country. They work for the betterment of all animals, and many of their shelters will take in any animals they can. By shedding light on this topic, I am hoping to allow people to realize and recognize that adoption is just as amazing as buying a puppy or kitten from a breeder.
