The legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen lost his battle with cancer at the age of 65 on October 6. He is considered one of the greatest and most influential guitarists of all time. He was famous for heavily modifying his guitars to meet his standards and eventually created his own guitar and amplifier company.

Eddie pushed to the limits what it meant to be a rock guitarist. He breathed life into the instrument. The big, loud, and in your face attitude of 80’s rock was spearheaded by Van Halen. He strived for speed and intricacy, but always ensured that his playing remained musical. He gave his song catchy hooks and memorable riffs along with his blazing solos; he had a passion for making the best songs he could.
