Homecoming Team – Packers

Holy Family Student Council works diligently to plan many events, themes, and activities throughout the school year.  Student Council is led by teacher Mrs. Kidrowski and student body presidents, Alli Schumacher, and Molly O’Connor. Each grade also selects a few student representatives to help the presidents with the many tasks. The leaders of Student Council are all looking forward to a fun and successful school year! When talking with Mrs. Kidrowski about the week, she said, “I am looking forward to the upperclassmen showing the underclassmen what it means to be Holy Family, and to teach them the traditions of Student Council.”

Recently, the Student Council has been working hard planning Homecoming Week. The focus for the week, which was voted on by the Student Council members, is the Fire Games. The themes for each day were all related to Fire Games and decided on by the students in Student Council. Monday’s theme was Travel Day, so students wore comfy clothes and met with their homecoming groups to select a sports team. On Tuesday, the theme was the Rings of Fire and each grade was assigned a color of the Olympic Rings. Wednesday’s theme was USA so students wore their best red, white, and blue. Thursday’s theme was sports teams so homecoming groups dressed up in their sports team’s colors or jerseys and participated in a giant recess where the teams competed against each other in various activities. On Friday students dressed in spirit wear and came together for an all school Pep Fest to prepare for Friday night’s football game against Glencoe-Silver Lake. Homecoming Week was concluded with the closing ceremony at the Homecoming Dance.

Overall, the students in Student Council are active in the school community and all are looking forward to a fun and successful school year.
