As we all know, the fashion event of the year has recently passed. Anna Wintour hosted and approved all of the exclusive invites. The top celebrities and designers are always in attendance. The theme for this year’s Met Gala was, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.” Due to pandemic guidelines, the celebrity-studded red carpet was a smaller affair than usual with invites stipulating a dress code inspired by American Independence. If you’re lucky enough to be on the guest list, then you don’t pay to attend. If you’re not on the list, but have managed to secure a chance of attending, tickets are priced at around $30,000 (£24,000) each, with tables costing about $275,000 (£215,000).

Past celebrities that have been known to make a statement were not present at this year’s Met Gala. Celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Zendaya, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Billy Porter, Ezra Miller, and others did not attend. Although this year was missing quite a few icons at the Met, others managed to turn heads and make all the top headlines. Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X made it known that they know the top designers. There were approximately 100 celebrities in attendance, many of which were wearing top couture.
