Remembering 9/11

September 11th, 2021, is a date that will never be forgotten. Four commercial planes were hijacked by al-Qaeda members. Two planes went into the World Trade Center and one later went into the Pentagon. A total of 2,996 people lost their lives on this day. 2,977 of those were civilians and 19 were hijackers. Many men and women jumped into action to help.  With little time to think, firefighters went head on and climbed 110 flights of stairs in full gear. As a result of this tragic day, 181,510 people enlisted in active duty and 72,908 entered the reserves the following year. To this day, we remember and honor those who were involved in this horrible situation. September 11th, 2001, will forever be a national day of remembrance and a day to be thankful for the amazing men and women that helped our country.
