eSports Winter/Spring Update
The eSports season is starting up again! This winter and spring, we will be returning to competitive play. The team will be competing in a variety of new and returning games: Mario Kart, Rocket League, Valorant, and Chess. For Mario Kart, we will continue to play against teams across the central United States through PlayVS. However, we will be playing in MNVL for the rest of the games. MNVL is an eSports league that consists entirely of Minnesota-based schools, so our Rocket League, Valorant, and Chess teams will be facing off against some familiar opponents.
Our Mario Kart and Rocket League teams are coming off successful inaugural seasons. Notably, Mario Kart finished in the top sixteen teams out of 114 in the central U.S. Rocket League fought a successful battle to qualify for the playoffs and recruited some fresh talent to have an even more successful season this time around. We’re also feeling optimistic about the Valorant and Chess teams.
In other news, the eSports lab in B-Wing will be getting upgraded soon! By the end of Spring Break, we will have fully upgraded and modern competitive gaming setups.
We also hope to continue casual intramural competitions. If there are any games you would be interested in seeing, let us know! If you are interested in playing on an eSports team this season or have any questions, contact Mr. Kannel.
