Junior and Senior Retreats

Fun games, class bonding, smiles, and memories are just a few things that contribute to the amazing experience of a school retreat. The upperclassmen juniors and seniors are preparing to participate in their class retreats. Highschool retreats are very important because they give students time to reflect on oneself, set personal goals, and grow with others. As the Juniors and seniors prepare to step into their adult lives, these retreats are able to take you back to childhood fun and form real connection with those around you.

The senior retreat is from 9:00 AM on Sunday, March 17, to Noon on Monday, March 18, at Camp Friendship in Annandale, MN. The seniors will celebrate and remember everything this class has gone through together. They will enjoy relaxation surrounded by nature, and the people they have spent the last four years growing with. Senior Caitlin Sieve said, “I am very excited for this retreat. From wearing masks and social distancing everyday freshman year, to preparing to graduate this spring, our school has gone through so much together. This retreat will be an amazing opportunity for one last time to form memories and reflect with our grade before we graduate.” Camp friendship is an overnight retreat that includes meals, lodging, and transportations. Father Bob White will also be joining the seniors to celebrate Mass during the retreat.

The junior Retreat is on Thursday, March 14, at Pax Christi Church. It is a junior ran retreat that helps the class prepare for their upcoming leadership role as seniors at Holy Family. Many junior leaders have come together to prepare topics, activities, and small group discussions, preparing them and teaching others the importance of leadership and other important values. Mrs. Bosch says that, “I am proud of the group of juniors who have stepped forward to plan the day. They have identified these topics, which will be addressed through talks and activities: unity, school spirit, and leadership. Spring semester is a great time for juniors to take on more ownership and leadership as they move closer to being seniors.”

As the seniors and juniors prepare for these retreats, remember to keep in mind that the more one puts into these activities, the more they will get out of them. Use these retreats to remember the great people you have met through this school and just be present in the moment to enjoy the simple things.
