On April 10th, Holy Family had its sixth annual Day of Giving Fundraiser. Over $250,000
was raised, making this the most successful Day of Giving yet.
“Our school and its ability to provide Catholic education and serve students is important.
This event focuses on supporting that mission,” explained Joe Burger, the Director of Annual
Giving for this project. “A lot of people in our community love to participate, which has caused the
event to grow annually.”
This fundraiser was put on by the school’s Advancement Office. Mr. Burger worked with
donors individually, Amanda Cahill organized the auction, and the Communications Department
put out many advertisements and social media posts to get people aware and excited about the
fundraiser.
When the day started, people could bid on a large variety of items or make donations.
Auction items included two nights at a lake house, kitchenware, and reserved parking spots for the
next school year. There is even a bit of donation competition. “We engage alumni by making it an
Odd-Year vs. Even-Year graduate competition,” said Mr. Burger.
All money raised on the Day of Giving went towards Holy Family’s annual fund. Mr. Burger
explained, “The annual fund takes care of all operational expenses – it pays all of the bills and
allows us to operate on a daily basis.”
Now that the Day of Giving is over, the Development Office is starting to work on plans for
the next major fundraiser, Spirit of Fire, which will be held on September 21.
